Pittsboro Mural
Pittsboro is getting a new mural!
**Come out to the Burrito Bash to support the Pittsboro Mural Project Monday, May 12 6-9pm!
The Abundance Foundation is partnering with Diane Swan and Suzanne Robinson along with others to create a beautiful community mural in a highly visible location! Suzanne is the Program Specialist for Unlimited Success at North Chatham, Horton and Chatham New School.
Saving the Haw River is the theme designed by professional mural artists using ideas created by middle school students from the Pittsboro area. The design will soon be painted by students, family and friends, and the community in downtown Pittsboro.

SKETCH:

Stacye Leanza is the lead artist and was recently the recipient of the Durham Arts Council’s Emerging Artists’ Grant for her children’s books, a very prestigious award indeed. Her talented assistant muralist is Travis Cohn. Erick Davis, famous for his General Store Cafe Murals, is also helping with this project.
Thanks to Elizabeth Anderson of Heartwood Realty, we’ll be using the side of Goodnight Gracie Antiques (the old Blair Hotel) across the street from the General Store Cafe as the canvas.
We are almost to the finishing up phase. Can you believe it? We will have painting on Wednesdays from here on out with the children involved in the original designing to put their own animals on the wall. All artists involved will be doing final finish up on faces in the next couple of weeks, then we have our celebration and dedication ceremony.
NOW, WE NEED YOU!
