pHLip Test - 9 + 1 Reference

The pHLip test was developed to give the buyer a tool to quickly and inexpensively determine quality of the fuel being made or purchased.

The pHLip Test is a B100 Fuel Quality Test Kit. Just add biodiesel to a vial of red Indicator solution, cap it, “pHLip” (flip) & wait 10 minutes. This is a VISUAL check, not a quantitative analysis; nearly as sensitive as ASTM in detecting dissolved contaminants. “Clear & Bright” results indicate B100 of excellent quality.

The pHLip Test detects:
-aged or oxidized, acidic biodiesel by a color change to orange then yellow; color shift is linear with decreasing pH.
-hydroxide catalyst contamination by a color change to magenta then purple with high pH – prevent engine damage.
